LANGKAWI: Penggambaran program realiti oleh stesen televisyen antarabangsa di pulau pelancongan ini pada bulan depan dijangka melonjak sektor pelancongan tempatan.
Selain itu, pertandingan separuh akhir Ratu Cantik Pelancongan Antarabangsa (RCPA) 2017 yang bakal berlangsung Disember ini juga bakal meletakkan nama Langkawi di persada antarabangsa.
Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif (KPE) Lembaga Pembangunan Langkawi (LADA) Datuk Azizan Noordin berkata, kedua-dua program itu diyakini memberi impak besar kepada imej Langkawi terutama program realiti televisyen yang ternyata membawa pengaruh tinggi kepada generasi muda seluruh negara.
Mengulas lanjut, katanya penggambaran empat siri program realiti akan memakan masa sembilan hari mulai 13 November ini dan ia membabitkan sembilan peserta mewakili pelbagai negara iaitu Amerika Utara, United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, China, Emiriah Arab Bersatu, India, Jepun, Australia dan tuan rumah, Malaysia.
Mengulas lanjut, katanya penggambaran empat siri program realiti akan memakan masa sembilan hari mulai 13 November ini dan ia membabitkan sembilan peserta mewakili pelbagai negara iaitu Amerika Utara, United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, China, Emiriah Arab Bersatu, India, Jepun, Australia dan tuan rumah, Malaysia.
"Kru dan peserta berada di Langkawi selama sembilan hari dengan pelbagai aktiviti disusun termasuk acara di darat, laut dan mendaki Gunung Mat Chinchang, selain aktiviti komuniti," katanya.
Beliau berkata demikian pada sidang media selepas Sesi Makan Malam Bersama Pengusaha Pelancongan di Hotel Adya Langkawi di sini, malam tadi.Yang turut hadir Timbalan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif (Pembangunan) LADA , Mohamed Asri Redha Abdul Rahman dan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Persatuan Pelancongan Langkawi, Zainudin Kadir.
Azizan berkata, program realiti itu bakal disebarkan secara meluas menerusi rangkaian televisyen antarabangsa Cable News Network (CNN), Travel Leisure Channel, majalah TIME, aplikasi kongsi video YouTube, Instagram dan Facebook.
"Bagi LADA kita komited menjayakannya bersama stesen televisyen antarabangsa seperti dirancangkan kerana program sedemikian mempunyai pengaruh besar kepada generasi muda di seluruh dunia, sekali gus mampu menggamit mereka untuk bercuti di Langkawi," katanya.
Pada masa sama, Azizan berkata pihaknya bersedia bekerjasama dengan penganjur RCPA 2017 edisi ke-20 bagi membolehkan 60 jelitawan dari seluruh dunia sekali lagi berkampung selama tiga hari dua malam di pulau ini.
"Tahun lalu, acara sama berlangsung dengan jayanya di sini, malah peserta pertandingan itu turut berjaya mencatat dua rekod dalam Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) menerusi sesi silat dan tai chi di puncak tertinggi dengan penyertaan warga negara teramai.
"Pada kali ini kita mencadangkan kepada penganjur supaya peserta RCPA 2017 mencatat satu lagi rekod dalam MBOR menerusi acara pertunjukan fesyen di puncak tertinggi dengan penyertaan warga negara teramai," katanya.

Langkawi to host reality show, Miss Tourism International beauty pageant

According to Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) chief executive officer Datuk Azizan Noordin, the reality show entitled, Differences Aside, is to be produced by international cable television network, CNN, in collaboration with Travel Leisure Channel (TLC).
“This reality show will be something unique where there will be nine participants who come here from other parts of the world to try the (tourism) activities that we have in Langkawi,” he told reporters at an engagement dinner with tourism players here last night.
The participants would be from North America, United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, China, Japan, India, United Arab Emirates, Australia and Malaysia.
Azizan said the participants and production crew would remain on the island from Nov 4 till Nov 19, and several attractive locations would be selected for the filming of the show, which is expected to be aired between November this year and January 2018.
“It is one of a kind show that adopts a treasure-hunt kind of activities and having Langkawi as the background for the show will promote it further as an island destination,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said LADA was eyeing to set another new Malaysian record this year in conjunction with the 20th edition of the Miss Tourism International from November 30 till December 2.
“We are looking at creating a new record for a catwalk held at the highest altitude this year after successfully setting two Malaysian records, each for the performance of Silat and Tai Chi at the highest altitude, last year,” he said.
He said 60 contestants would be taking part in the beauty pageant and a special title, Langkawi Tourism Ambasadress 2017, would be awarded to the best participant in the activities organised here.
